Oh boy - we've been slacking!

I realize that this website has been severely lacking in updates. But, the good news is that we’ve been busy as ever! It’s been 4.5 years since we opened The Lakes Collective, and many photographers have utilized our space for their family, boudoir, baby and newborn sessions. Everyone loves the clean, bright aesthetic, and it’s easy-to-get-to location.

A few things to note:

  • any furniture that is out is there for you to use (just make sure to put it back when you’re done).

  • you’ll want to bring your own bedding if you plan on using the bed (we keep a thin white blanket on there).

  • preferred time for shooting seems to be late morning/early afternoon, but a lot of our renters prefer the even light later in the afternoon. Basically, you can make the light work for you no matter what time you’re in if it’s morning or afternoon.

  • there’s a nest thermostat in the studio so if you’re photographing a newborn and want us to turn the heat up ahead of time, just let us know and we can easily do that.

  • the back side of the studio (apartment parking side) has stair-less/handicap accessible entry

And here’s a big one - we do require you to carry liability insurance for your business in order to rent with us.

OK - enough with the talk. Hopefully it won’t be another four years or so between blog posts, but for now - here are some photos by Melissa Klein Photography taken at The Lakes Collective.
